  • Kingston City Hall

    Better Homes Kingston

The Better Homes Kingston Program actively helps you make your home more energy-efficient and climate-friendly through a single portal. It offers up to $40,000 in loans at zero per cent interest for energy-efficient upgrades. You can even get 30 per cent upfront to pay contractors.

As a resident of Kingston you are eligible for a zero-interest loan for home energy efficiency improvements.

This program is supported by the Government of Canada's Green Municipal Fund through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

  • Canada Greener Homes Loan

The Canada Greener Homes Loan offers interest-free financing to help Canadians make their homes more energy efficient and comfortable.

The loan can help you finance eligible retrofits that are recommended by an energy advisor and that have not yet been started. A maximum of one loan is available per eligible property and homeowner from $5,000 up to $40,000.

Once approved, a portion of the loan can be delivered up front to assist in paying any deposits required by your contractor. The balance of the loan will be delivered after the retrofits have been completed and verified through a post-retrofit evaluation.

  • Canada Greener Homes Grant

For existing applicants, this program provides grants up to $5,000 to get part of your costs back for eligible home retrofits, plus up to $600 additional grant toward the total costs of your pre and post retrofit EnerGuide home evaluations.

The Canada Greener Homes Grant is no longer accepting new applicants. Homeowners who are already participating are encouraged to proceed in a timely manner with their retrofits and will continue to be eligible for funding and support through the Canada Greener Homes portal.

  • Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate Plus

The program focused on decarbonization by incentivizing the installation and use of home heating and cooling equipment with no carbon footprint and improvements to the building envelope, such as insulation, windows and doors, that help increase the home’s efficiency and decrease the need to heat or cool.

The Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program, in partnership with Natural Resources is no longer accepting new applicants. Homeowners who are already participating are encouraged to proceed in a timely manner with their retrofits and will continue to be eligible for funding and support.
